ADR Refresher Course 2.5 Days, 20-22 January 2025
(including VAT, Exam fees & 14 Hour CPC)

This ADR Refresher Course offer is suitable for drivers who are wanting to keep their existing ADR certificate (card) valid. An ADR Driver Training Certificate is valid for five years from the date of issue. This can be extended during the final twelve months of validity for a further period of five years, from the date of expiry, by the holder undertaking and passing the appropriate refresher training and examinations.

Candidates may only refresh the qualifications they currently hold. You can add extra dangerous goods classes to your ADR driver card at any time by taking optional training modules and tests by attending an ADR initial training course for the relevant module. A benefit of the ADR Refresher course is the shorter duration and lower cost. However, the driver is eligible for fewer Driver CPC hours.

To allow the new qualification to be processed, the candidate should have at least 2 weeks remaining on their current ADR card. This refresher course qualifies for up to 14 hours of periodic CPC training (DCPC), under the Directive 2008/68/EC), meaning that you can claim Driver CPC tuition from the course. Drivers who want 14 hours ADR Training recognised for Driver CPC will need to contact DVSA using cpcre@dvsa.go.uk and provide:

• The date they completed their training
• Their driving licence number, date of birth and address
• Evidence that they have completed a relevant course i.e. a scanned copy of their training certificate that we will provide

This course will take place in one of our classrooms in Runcorn and prepares candidates for the SQA ADR Vocational Training Certificate Examinations. We are approved for the completion for the online exams set by SQA using laptops that we will provide. Results are issued at the end of the course and typically receive their ADR vehicle driver card within a week. Modules Covered, during the first two days:

• Core Module (the general provisions)
• Tanks
• Packages and Bulk
• Class 2 – Gasses
• Class 3 – Flammable liquids
• Class 4 – Flammable Solids, Spontaneously Combustible and Dangerous when wet
• Class 5 – Oxidizers and Organic Peroxides
• Class 6 – Toxic and Infectious Substances
• Class 8 – Corrosives
• Class 9 – Miscellaneous

The SQA examinations are taken on final third day. If you only require certain classes, or only packages or tanks module then please speak with us for possibly further reductions. Those wanting to claim the CPC hours will need to attend all the training.
